SHIFT YOUTH

6TH-12TH GRADE

ABOUT SHIFT YOUTH

VISION: We exist to help students learn how to live with one hand to the gutter*and one hand to the sky. The gutter is anywhere the gospel is not, including students' homes, communities schools, extra-curricular activities, and jobs.
MISSION: To contextualize the mission of The Shift Church in the lives of our students in 6th-12th grade: Engaging, Equipping, and Experiencing.
CORE VALUES: Our Core Values are the same as our church's: Truth, Community, Worship, and Missional Journey.

RHYTHYMS

Shift Youth meets on Sunday nights from 6-8PM at our church campus for a combination of games, worship, Biblical teaching, and small groups. Students are placed in small groups based on gender and age.  We have an amazing team of volunteer leaders that serve your students by setting up, leading worship, and leading small groups. Throughout the week, our leaders engage in one-on-one discipleship with students and do life with them outside of our Sunday nights together. In addition, we engage in our missional journey by participating in supervised service opportunities inside our church and outside of our church.

FAQs

IS THERE YOUTH ON SUNDAY MORNINGS?

On Sunday mornings, our students are invited to join their families or sit with other students in the corporate worship gathering. We want our students to participate in corporate worship with our church body, as seen in the New Testament. Our students often serve on a Sunday morning, such as in Shift Kids, on our worship teams, or behind the scenes. Our students are valued members of our church and make-up a diverse body of believers.

DOES SHIFT YOUTH TAKE TRIPS?

Yes! Each semester, Shift Youth travel to a local campground to have a weekend retreat. Those retreats are filled with meals together, games, camp activities, hikes, and times of worship, teaching, and small group. In addition, we participate in service trips outside of our church around our community.

HOW DO STUDENTS GET INVOLVED IN SERVING?

Our students can serve our church in two ways, both within our youth group and our church body. On Sunday nights, students can serve by helping set up, by helping run sound or a computer, or help clean up. Students who also serve in other areas of our church body, such as helping teach in lead in Shift Kids, helping with sound or media on Sunday mornings, or in the worship team led by our worship leaders. Please let us know if you want to serve!

DO YOU OFFER ANY EQUIPPING?

Yes! Besides one-on-one discipleship, we offer classes during each semester that cover studying Scripture, theology, doctrine, or apologetics. In addition, we use the ReadScripture app to follow a Bible reading plan as a youth group. Check our social media pages for content we provide to equip our students and for opportunities for equipping classes and opportunities.
