About shift youth

WHY WE EXIST: "Having so fond an affection for you, we were well-pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us." 1 Thessalonians 2:8 (NASB)

VISION: We exist to help students learn how to live with one hand to the gutter and one hand to the sky.

MISSION: To contextualize the mission of The Shift Church in the lives of our students in 6th-12th grade: Engaging, Equipping, and Experiencing.

CORE VALUES: Truth, Community, Worship, and Missional Journey.

For the latest information regarding our rhythms, including time, locations, changes, and content, please check our social media accounts or group text for the most up-to-date information. (See the "CONNECTED" section at the bottom of our page.

ELEVATE: Elevate is a weekly worship experience on Sundays for youth in 6th-12th grade. It often includes a combination of games, worship, teaching, and small groups. Elevate occurs on the first and third Sunday of each month, from 6-8PM, and during the second service (10:45AM) on the second Sunday of each month at our Columbus campus (with exceptions on holiday weeks/weekends).

FIRESIDE: The fourth Sunday night of each month is our dedicated Gospel Community Group night. On those nights, students meet in small groups that are organized by gender at different host homes. Each night consists of a combination of sharing a meal together, building community, discussing a Biblical topic or passage of scripture, and praying. Check our group text for the monthly location.

CULTIVATE: Cultivate refers to one-on-one discipleship. Our volunteer leaders disciple our students by spending time with them, going through Scripture together, valuing them as people, and attending their events. This relationship is often built outside the walls of the church and helps develop our older students while allowing our younger students to feel comfortable and welcomed to our youth group.

PROVISION: We encourage our students to serve and to serve together. Through various events and connecting them with areas of ministry, they are able to serve internally (within the church) and externally (to the world outside of our church).
